From Palace of Justice to Gaza...

Never have I dreamed the day when Putrajaya Critical Massers will reach to a good volume more than a hundred. By past experience, having the meeting point at Mamak Double Trouble, Presint 9 might have somewhat distorted the increment of participants. We had problems with parking spaces and brief point. Not to mention, the possibility endangering the safety of people and traffic congestion within the area.

With majority vote and brainchild idea from Putrajaya Easy Riders, we shifted our meeting point in front of Palace of Justice. To my surprise - riders came from all over Klang Valley including a few from outskirts of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan - Putrajaya Critical Mass has break its record with more than 120 cyclists that night.

The venue is perfect in my opinion. Most would agree that all of us really, really did go in a mass rather than blotches of pelotons. That night it was very organised except the fact that it did start really, really late. My thousands of apologies on the matter.
That night we managed to collect RM800 for the NSTP Fund For Gaza.

I, representing all who have helped PCM all this while especially on that special night, salute and would like to thank all of you who managed to come, donate and ride for Gaza that night.

Thank you all for coming and your generous donations.

For everytime that we have ride together and passing smiles to one another, I definitely have put all of you in a special league of our own. May God bless all of you.

PS: Janganlah nangis... :P

Assalamualaikum my organizer brothers,

Rounding up 100++ cyclist from various parts of 3 states (WP, Selangor and Negeri 9) is NO easy task. Well done and bravo. Hip hip hurray.

Although we may have timing issue, I hope all of us can be good sport and try our best to be on time.

And those who are early all the times, please understand that some of our PCMers are coming all the way from afar after work, hurdling the Friday night traffic just to be there by 9pm. Some may not be so fortunate.

(ohh sorry, you probably have no idea how Friday night rush in KL is like since you live and work in Putrajaya .. silly me!)

Trimas semua! :D

Hi Anon,
Thank you for understanding. I used to work in KL and had to hurdle traffic not just on fridays but everyday.

Sometimes i feel that giving an opportunity and exposure is never enough to some.

I think starting next month PCM meeting time go back at 9pm and 9.30pm roll. If we're late then we're late. No event is perfect. There will be hiccups.

I don't want people from afar try to come rushing after working hours and when they arrive there's no one to ride with. It makes me feel bad.

Kalau lambat kita try tunggu, kalau tak kita jalan. Selama ni pun tak pernah habis lepas pukul 12am. Last2 ramai jek yang mengkayakan mamak double trouble. :P

Nak jaga hati orang mmg susah. Hati sendiri takde orang peduli betul? :)
Thanks anon! Thanks everyone for your support. :D

If we don't support, who else will? Daoh, better back to our old timing 9pm and start rolling 9.30pm. Memang 8.30pm a bit rush especially people from afar. Nevertheless, I managed to reach at 8.30pm that night. By 9pm memang tak ramai lagi. So kalau nak start pun tak best and no impact. So eventhough it started late that night, I used the time to mingle around and get to know more people. So basically NO TIME BEING WASTED. I always make it a point to remember 2-3 names for every PCM and try to ride along with different people every time.

I sometimes do evening ride on Saturday. I start around 6 and finish around 7. I can cover around 10-15 km (I am a slow cyclist).

The only way to get a perfect timing and the distance I desire is to ride alone.

So, for certain quarters who like to whine what should and should not happen, please do what I do, cycle alone.

When I go to PCM, I don't bring my watch. A watch is what I need when I go to work.

For PCM you need your bike and H20. Maybe some need spare rubber (by that I mean tubes not condoms!) and handyplast.

So far I have no complains. Keep up the good work mr organizer.

To the rest I have 2 words : "Relaxla Bro...."

"time is gold"... memang benar masa itu emas.

for 5 days in a week. we're rushing to the office just to make sure the track record of our attendance. and yet, we still have to pickup our wife's calls when ever we're out cycling and so on because she is waiting u at home and looking for a quality "TIME" together. so, for the PCM which involves a huge number of cyclist, do u think that we can satisfy every single person??? what is the point of "rushing?" and where does the word "Tolerate" come from?

Mungkinkah kita pun macam tu? In our own little way?

Hang pikir lah sendiri Nabil.....

Hmmm???

Dah pegi buat kerja, bulan depan hangpa mai lagi na....

Naik basikal, basikal Taiwan;
Tayar Kenda berbunga-bunga,
Event PCM tiap-tiap bulan;
Mari ride bersama-sama.

Saudara saudari,
The last PCM was our first from a new starting point.
Definitely, we should allow a certain degree of kelam kabut ness.
The timing change was one of those.
So the next time we make it better.
We form up at 9 pm and start cycling at sharp 9.30 in the various group.
During the forming up the various group can take their position in an orderly manner...macam berbaris by kumpulan. At sharp 9.30 kumpulan yang paling bersedia di hadapan start kayuh. Ta payah tunggu arahan sesiapa....
The route of the PCM kita pamerkan dalam blog kita seminggu sebelum.
There is a need to modify the route during the next PCM because it is now becoming more routine.
In this less than one month till the next PCM, we can recce a new route or modified route.
My suggestion is that we start at Palace of Justice i.e. the same place as the last ride because it is very open and bright...
From there we cycle to PICC and turn ride at the traffic light at the foot of PICC and head towards..the road going to Cyberjaya and Dengkil.
Just before going off to the main highway Puchong Sepang, we turn left and U Turn to Pinggiran Putra leading to Alamanda (This is the reverse order of our previous ride)....
From there we head straight on towards the road going out to IOI...but we turn left at the end heading to Presint 9 and subsequently turn left at Presint 8 heading to the bridge in front of MoF and then ends at Palace of Justice...
We can even go one round to the Mosque roundabout before ending at the Palace of Justice...
That should be more than 26 km...maybe more...
I can recce some other routes if this one is not suitable.
Our main aim of the route is that it should be SAFE, less fast motorised traffic and do not cross unnecessary junction or choke point.
At the same time we might want to consider a route that will pass by a scenic well lighted scene of Putrajaya, taking advantage of the nice brightly covered streets and bridges.
We might want to tawaf up PICC and rest up there for a breathing break and admire the splendid view of Putrajaya Core Island at night.

As we progress along we hope we can get more volumnteers to be the Marshallers for route guide and emergency support...
As we go alaong too we must think up of more ways to make the PCM a vubrant and interesting ride and not just one of those rides....

Lt Col AO Fuad

agreed with your ideas. One of the reasons why I like about Putrajaya is the scenic views:-) The timing of 9.30pm to start would be just nice. Not too early or too late. Selling PCM as a vibrant and interesting ride is the key towards attracting more participants.
